SUBJECT:  Completion of 2-Day AMO Seminar and 40-Hour Construction Safety and Health (COSH) or Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Course for Site Safety Engineer
The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) is reminding all license renewing contractors that completion of the above seminars are pre-requisites to the filing of license renewal applications for contracting fiscal year 2013-2014 per PCAB Resolution Nos. 144 and 435, s. 2011.
Contractors who have not yet completed the above seminars may check the AMO seminar schedule and other particulars posted at the DTI website, or at the PCAB premises or from the PCAB accredited constructors associations for immediate reservation/enrollment.  The COSH or BOSH for Site Safety Officer Course schedule may be checked with the different DOLE accredited safety training organizations (STOs) at the website of the Bureau of Working Standards.
Renewing contractors are also enjoined to file complete application, inclusive of proof of completion of said seminars, in accordance with the following schedule:

4 and 5 APRIL
6 and 7  MAY
8 and 9 and new license
and new license approved
from January to June

Greetings in the name of quality, environment safety and health!

Under Rule 1033 of Philippine Occupational Safety and Health Standards (as amended) and DO 16 series of 2001, to wit “The minimum qualifications, duties and number of required safety and health officers shall be as follows: 1) All safety officers must complete the Bureau-prescribed training course prior to their appointment as in their respective places of employment; 2) All full-time safety officers must meet the requirement of duly-accredited Safety Practitioners or Safety Consultants by the Bureau; and 3) Not less than the required number of supervisors or technical personnel shall take the required trainings and shall be appointed as a safety officer on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the number of workers employed and the hazardous or non-hazardous nature of the workplace.”

The registration fee is inclusive of the following:

  • Training manual and free safety posters
  • CD containing safety presentations, international papers, OSH standards
  • 2 snacks and lunch for 5 days
  • Certificate of completion (in accordance with BWC-DOLE Standards)
